Work from home as medical transciptionist?

Hi mamas,

Like many people, I'm looking for a way to stay at home with my son. He's 9 weeks now. My maternity leave ends after 4 months, when I'll have to go back full-time. We can't afford daycare, so we're looking at doing split shifts, me and DH, and I'm trying to find an alternative.

I know some folks to medical transcription work from home. Can anyone out there tell me about a personal experience with this? How much do you earn, generally? What school/certification did you have to get in order to do it?
