DS is almost 10. He has friends over or goes to friends' houses, jumps on the neighbor's trampoline, reads a LOT, plays with his sisters. We go to the pool and swim 3-4 afternoons a week, he takes gymnastics one night a week and goes to open gymnastics another night. He's really into trampolines, so spends a lot (too much IMO) of time researching trampolines and watching trampoline videos on the computer. When it's cool enough, he likes to ride his mountain bike or play basketball in the driveway. He watches a little TV, but not even daily.Â

A lot of online gaming. There aren't kids around in our neighborhood. We go on evening bike rides together when it is cool enough. He plays with legos a bit. He did a science in the summer program at the library one week. I'll take him to a lake to swim a few times and we're going to visit relatives for a week.Â

My boy is 11 and he has been playing a lot of soccer, pick-up games, and tournaments etc. He has also been training three days a week for two hours with the local high school soccer team, at the invitation of the coach, he's a soccer phenom. He has also spent quite a bit of time hanging out with his best friend and playing way too much wii.Â

Ds is 9 1/2, so I'll answer.
Â
He reads a lot, imaginative play with his sister nicely (hahaha - a bit), practice his violin, draw/art, legos, outdoor play (right now it's just water), sometimes we go to the park (he likes to bring a bat and ball), throwing a softer ball against the stairs indoors repeatedly so it bounces back down for him to catch for roughly the other 6 hours a day. ;)
Â
We used to do more outdoor bike or scooter riding but recently moved and I'm not comfortable with him outside on our new street as it's busier. When we had a big driveway he would do a lot of riding around in the drive way.
Â
We get together with friends about once a week, and two separate weeks during the summer he will have a morning camp.
Â
No video games, online play, television or movies.

Karate a few days a week
Trips to the library 1-2 times a week
Plays with the kids on our street 2-3 hours a day
Chores, lots of chores :)
Reading library books
An hour of Playstation or Wii
Watches a movie a few days a week
Games on www.lego.com
Mine is just shy of 10. He's been doing lots of reading (most recently discovered the Skulduggery Pleasant books by Derek Landy and loves those), lots of video games (mostly Super Paper Mario on the Wii --the heat wave has made playing outside less pleasant than it usually is), lots of playing "spy" with his little brother, building with Legos, staging battles with his knights/pirates, a few playdates where imagination-type games are prevalent, and some outdoor ball/tag/water play. On weekends when his dad is around, he also is getting into model-building and learning to program with Python.Â
