My daughter never wants to come home

Is there a "beat your head against the wall" icon? LOL...

I wish I had known that when my teen girl cries and cries, to not cry myself. I was sooo upset because she was home sick.

Now..after not hearing from her in days, after she called and asked to go out with a boy...she never called again until today.

Now..apparently... "camp is heavenly"  yep! Those were her exact words. "Heavenly"!!!

I am laughing. Yes. But you know what? <shaking head pitifully> <sigh>

I guess since she is one of my oldest children, I will, hopefully, know how to handle these sorts of things.

I think it is cute and sort of humorous. Now I am worried when she comes home in 9 days, she will be a monster because she misses the boy.

As a matter of fact, there is! banghead.gif  Where is the boy from?

Oh don't worry about 9 days from now. If she went from desperately homesick to never wanting to come home within a matter of days, who knows what she will be like in 9 days?? winky.gif

He is from Michigan and we are in Texas.

I think what you're going through is par for the course for the camp experience. Homesickness, increasing independence, a little romance, lots of growth.  I don't usually talk to my dd in the midst of camp, so I miss some of the homesickness one day, fine the next day drama.  I'm glad--I think that unless there is a big misfit with the camp, most kids weather it quite well.  Glad your dd is OK.

Congratulations! You got to suffer through her homesick misery while she was away from camp, now you have a few days' of happiness before she comes home miserable and love-sick! I'm so not looking forward to teenage-hood! (But I'm glad she's ending camp on a happy note -- now your family doesn't have to worry that she'll never go away to college. <wink>)
