About product reviews

I'm just wondering about this and asking for more info. What is idea behind the product reviews? While I love getting recommendations from fellow members I'm concerned that the product reviews could be a draw to spammers trying to get us to buy their product. 

Is there some sort of rules or guidelines for posting reviews?

The idea behind reviews is two-fold: to give the community a reviews section where they can share their opinions and experiences with and about products and services, and to provide product purchase information for interested buyers, which earns MDC a small percentage if the purchase is made through that link. 

Our rules are our general UA rule that MDC members do not  "post commercial messages/promote a specific company, product or service without MDC approval"

We do not permit someone to promote their own product by posting a review themselves. They can place the product and all the info about it but if they place a review we will remove it.

Can you tell me how to do one?  I've tried several times and all it does is ask me for the name and then it searches for a product similar to it.

This comes from the thread "Enuresis Treatment Center" in The Childhood Years. It has been locked and it had been stated that  a review of the center should be in the reviews section, which I am more than happy to do, but I can't do it.

I'm sure I'm missing something. Any help would be appreciated.  I am getting a lot of pm's about the center, which is totally okay with me, but this might make it more expedient for members, if they could go to a review of it first.

Click on reviews in the navbar:

On the Reviews page look for the Practitioners & Services section.

Click on "Hospitals, Clinics, and Centers" and that will bring you to this page: 

Click on the Add Item button.

Type the title of the center in the search field to check first if it has already been placed. You will get a results page:

If you find what you're looking for then you simply click it to go to the page to place your review. If it does not come up in the results then you can add it to the reviews list by scrolling to the bottom of the results where you will see this:

Click the "add it manually" link and just follow the steps and provide all of the info. After you've placed it you will be able to place your own personal review.
