Wool felt animals, as for a felt board. Â Or, just a little more elaborate, stitch 2 sides together with some light stuffing between. Â Because it's so expensive, I save every tiny scrap of it for eyes, or hearts, etc to stitch on the shirts of wooden peg dolls described in the pp. Â We like those as well. Â I also like to crochet little blankets, or even easier cut squares of poly fleece (like old coats) or washed woolen sweaters to make little blankets. Â I mean very little, though you could make them larger and every imaginable size. Â Little kids love to tuck even the tiniest toy under a blankey. Â Stitch 2 together for a sleeping bag or a pillow. Â Collect little baskets from the thrift store and make a little fairy bed. Â ANY toy inside a basket is great!
I don't know what ages the kids you have in mind are.  I think my ideas are best for little ones, or up to 6 or 7.
