fabric for a duvet cover

Thread Starter

I bought some "decor" fabric that's 100% cotton, but kind of a thick, rougher weave. I intended it for curtains then changed my mind. I was thinking of making a duvet cover out of it, but I'm worried it will bother me because it's not smooth like a sheet. I do use fitted and top sheets, but I'm still bound to have the duvet touch me at some point in the night.  Any experience with a non-smooth duvet cover?

Maybe get some smooth fabric for the back that is more likely to touch you and the "rougher fabric" on top?  Guess it depends how much you tuck the duvet around you.
