Time In help

Thread Starter
So we are in process to foster adopt 3 young children, ages 2, 3 and 4. We have had visitations with them for several weeks, including a few weekend at our home, and they are moving in tomorrow finally.

We are researching and trying all GD/positive discipline ideas we can.

The idea of Time In makes so much sense on so many levels, but we are having a REALLY difficult time implementing it. I feel it would work with 1-2 very young children at a time, but when I am alone with them and they all begin to physically fight or do dangerous things like climb all over things all at once, it is literally impossible for me to handle each of them with a Time In. Time OUT seems to be the only way to separate them, but I really feel Time In is better for them. They all demand attention as soon as I give it to one, literally.

Any ideas??

Hi,

Maybe have a ' comfort corner '  or a special place for each kid to have some quiet time , calm down etc

I would post over on the adoption board. Foster and some adoptive children may have issues the a noter child would not. What is gd and works with one child may not work with yours Those moms on the adoption board may have gd ideas that can help you.
