Morning all:)

I have been spending as much time as I can outside and have been staying off the computer for the most part.  Trees here are turning already, I can't believe it!  The Spring and Summer have just gone by so quickly this year to me.  Canned some beans last week and waiting to get started on the tomatoes but they are slow turning this year, maybe from all the rain we have been getting?  Only 12 days before my kids go back to school.  I can't believe they are going to be Seniors and turn 18 in November, I just can't believe it!  This is going to be the start of many changes here and I am nervous, excited, sad and happy all in one! Just typing it out made me have butterflies.  So this week it's back to school shopping, yuck!  Once the kids go back to school I am going to be cleaning this house from top to bottom, getting ready to close us in for the Winter.

I hope everyone has a great day.

I really need to get on learning to can, it'll be essential soon.

Two big things this week - first we made an appointment to go see a property on the 27th.  If it looks as good in person as it does online, we'll be making an offer.  Second, we went and got legally hitched yesterday.  My ex came down and brought Badger with him, and we all went to lunch afterwards.  It was nice.  Badger wore a little kilt, tweed jacket, and Star Wars sneakers.  He's only 3 and already cooler than I will ever be. lol.gif

hehe, I can just see your little guy looking all hip!  Congrats on getting hitched!  Finding a place that really feels like home is a wonderful gift, I hope the property speaks to you.

Clay- ewww! Don't people realize that pets get sick very quickly when they aren't kept on their regular food? I would have had a fit if someone fed my animals other food. A sick pet is almost always grosser than a sick kid. *hugs*

Emotions/Changing in Life- I have started having some hot flashes and mood issues, though they tested my hormones and they were within normal range, I believe I am beginning to go into peri-menopause. My Mom started in her 30's, and it was really tough on her. Bleck. And of course, my dr dismissed the whole thing cause I am only 35, way too young. eyesroll.gif Hormones can change over the course of your life silly dr. I am trying to embrace the changes but I will admit, I am really not liking it. It is effecting my sleep, and I am sure it set off some of my anxiety issues. Enough of my complaining. I need to get doing something this morning. Better get off the computer

Congrats Max!  Huzzah!

pets- yeah, and she is a big pet owner so it's not like she doesn't "know" about animal quirks.  I think the most important difference between sick animals and sick kids is that the kids rarely crawl under the bed or behind the couch to hurl while the cat most certainly does.  Thankfully today has been quiet so either the cat is feeling better or she'd hiding it upstairs where I haven't smelled it yet.  LOL

weather- absolutely beautiful here, but I'm too tired/pregnant to really take advantage.  I just want to sit!

Remember all that angst I went through about school/preschool?  Well, Ro has been asking to go to preschool EVERY SINGLE DAY this week.  :(  Her definition is a few hours a day, twice a week, with "no mama" and no siblings, doing "fun stuff with a teacher and other kids", and "being magic outside".  I've tried organizing preschool playgroups at our home but we're just too far out in the boonies... no one shows, especially once the weather gets bad.  And all the same problems apply now that I was originally dealing with... a tight budget, a newborn, long commutes to get anywhere.  ARGH!

cuteness- DD1 (6yo) just gave me a tattoo... a horned, winged, devil tailed, fire breathing heart flying over a forest.  LOL

Quick question- Anyone know where I can find boys jeans with a skull on the pocket for ds?  I've looked online but can't find any in stock.  Help?

Congrats:) on the getting hitched! How exciting.  I hope the property is just what you are looking for.

My only thought was to just add the skull to the jeans (like a iron-on patch).  I know I've seen some cool ones at jo-ann fabrics and such.   I hope it all works out!!

Clay : anywhere to put that plant in the bathroom?  Not that you want something that gives you and DD2 the creeps staring at you in the shower... I have a "christmas" cactus in our living room which I love because it blooms every february JUST about the time I am ready to pack up my bags and run away to a land without snow!  haha.

Ugh-- I'm 51 and nowhere NEAR it. My mom started hers at 52. I do believe it's genetic, don't you? The onset? I still bleed every month like I'm 14 eyesroll.gif

Want to see pix of that, too! Sounds like it'd be a cool real tattoo!

Hot Topic? Maybe they can give you leads, if they don't have something. Spencers? I'm thinking patch, too.

You bet we do winky.gif But the leaves should be pretty, soon, and we can walk in the woods, and I'll even let him take photos of me out there again. I have one particular tree that I love in those woods. And there's an old monument or obelisk or something, out there, a flag pole, that M says "the witches do their thing" at thumb.gif

When it rains...

Wednesday Max and I got married.  That same day Max's father went in for a partial knee replacement.  This morning Max's grandmother (his father's mother) died.  I'm told a hospital has never discharged someone so fast as they did this morning.  Please take time to send some energy to her for a safe and easy journey to the other side.

MaxFox:

Blessings to you on your marriage.

Much love and positive, healing vibes for Max's father - both with his knee and coping with the death of his mom (and, of course, the rest of the family - Max, you).

Wombat - that trip sounds amazing. Maybe one day...

Heckedy - candle.gif So sorry for your loss!

Unschool - what a beautiful handfasting!!!

Maia - I'd probably pay her what you originally agreed but be on the look out for a new sitter.

Max - Congrats on the marriage! Your kiddo sounds super cute. And I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for your father, and I'm so sorry about the loss in your family.

Just got back from our trip. Same lake. Different side. Managed not to get caught up in the family drama and had a wonderful time. Reading a book about the Chicago River that started with this quote by Loren Eiseley: "If there is magic on this planet, it is contained in water." While in Michigan, we picked peaches. I've found it much more difficult dealing with the bounty of a peach harvest, since the ripening is staggered. Any tips?

It is, indeed. I lived at the ocean for 14 years, and yes...it is.

I can't find another sitter, really, who's willing to LIVE with my child for 6 days. We don't know anybody else. Which is why I usually suck it up to whatever her weird whims are and deal with it. Sigh. I think I am not going to pay her for that one day, though, as I pay her by the day and she won't have him at all for 24 hours. I will, though, pay her slightly extra for the other days, plus a bit of a gas allowance.

I just realized it's only like 12 more days!!! joy.gif

Oh yeah-- the Real Estate Weekly ad is getting like 4-5 hits a day...but nobody's leaving contact info greensad.gif Hopefully soon. Out of the mouths of babes: my son's best friend saw that ad and said "I didn't know this was a trailer!" Um, it's not; it's definitely a house, but it does kind of have a trailery look since it's exactly oblong and all vinyl sided. Any ideas for sprucing up the outside so it looks more housey?

It's a really cool ad, though. Here it is. Please feel free to pass it on!!! CLICK HERE to see the VIRTUAL TOUR of your property.

OMG, listening to a pre-recorded interview for the podcast (see my sig) by Starhawk, regarding her book The Fifth Sacred Thing and making it into a movie. She got a letter from Olympia Dukakis saying she wanted to be in the movie!

Gosh, it has been a hugely active week. Everything seems to be hitting all at once. I can't even bring myself to talk about it again... So, I'm going with Dory, and I'll "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."
