Last year I had pots with tomato plants in and a little garden bed with tomatoes and other veg. Â The chipmunks were attacking my tomato pots, they took a lot of the unripened fruit and ate one bite then discarded on the patio. This year they have stripped one blueberry plant and 2 tomato plants already. Â I am despairing. Â All my rainwater harvesting and careful watering seems pointless if I'm not going to even SEE the fruit. Â None of the fruit was even near ripe - they will eat anything it seems.
Â
Any tips on keeping them away or getting rid of them? They are burrowing all over my yard and up into the vegetable garden so fencing is pointless. Â I live in the suburbs on only a quarter of an acre, so not countryside or anything where you might expect this sort of wildlife!
