so when you but soda and such with a deposit on it do you have to make the difference up in cash or dose the ebt card cover that deposit

Where I work it is cash but we only sell one thing with a deposit...milk.  So you would only need to come up with $4 to bring home a gallon of milk at a time.  The jar is a separate charge from the milk.  And is rung up  as a non food item.  I am sure this varies.
