i am 10 DPO . i took a test this evening and the negative line barley showed up should i re test ?

It is normally best to test first thing in the morning after a long period f holding in your urine.  it has been a couple days since your first post.  Another thing is that most tests are accurate after 14 DPO.  Good luck!  I am 11 DPO here and sittng on my hands trying not to POAS!

What hCG level did the test require?  Be sure to get one that only requires a level of 25.  A typical generic drug store test or dollar store test will work just fine.  You're 14 DPO today- how did you confirm ovulation?  If you are 14 DPO, you should get an accurate result now.  I second the rec for FMU, but at 14 DPO it's likely fine with afternoon urine if you hold it for a few hours.

i have a chart for my ovulation , and i got the test a walmart i took it at 10DPO i am now 14DPO  the line barley showed for negative , i plan to take another one tmr morning . im new too all of this .

Do you use a free site like www.fertilityfriend.com to log your charting data?  If so, can you share your chart?

I believe that the Walmart brand HPT requires an hCG level of 50.  Definitely get a different test that only requires 25.  Here's a site you can check out for sensitivity levels: http://www.peeonastick.com/hpts.html and here's another one: http://www.babyhopes.com/pregnancy-test-sensitivity-comparison.html.  Target, CVS, and Walgreens all sell generic test that only need a level of 25, but you do need to be careful to purchase the correct version.

Testing tomorrow... very exciting!  Keep us posted!

Ah, I see... those calculators assume that you have a 28 day cycle and ovulate on CD 14.  Some allow you to adjust the length of your cycle, but they still assume that you get your period 14 days after you ovulate.   These are simply averages and are just not true for all women.  So you could be 14 days past ovulation or you could be something entirely different.  Do you recall having fertile cervical fluid- creamy or eggwhite in consistency- around the 22nd?  This would help to figure out if it is likely that you did indeed ovulate around that time.  More importantly, what this means is that you don't know exactly how many days after ovulation you are so even if you get a BFN tomorrow, that is not a guarantee that you're not pregnant.  If you ovulated later than you expected it still may be too early to test.  Many common things can delay ovulation (and hence delay AF) like stress, travel, illness, injury, diet changes, strenuous exercise, etc.

Fertility Friend is a site to log your basal body temperature (that you would take with a basal body thermometer each morning) and your cervical fluid observations.  Charting these things will tell you several things: when you are fertile, when you ovulated, how long your luteal phase is (the time between O and AF), when to expect AF, when would be appropriate to test, if you're pregnant, and if there is anything of concern happening with your cycle.  Fertility Friend (FF) also has a free tutorial that you can take to learn more about charting.  Another great resource is the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler.  You can also just ask for help getting going here on MDC.  If you're not pregnant this cycle, I highly, highly recommend starting to chart.  If I've misunderstood you and you already do chart these things and just need help with FF, just post and ask your questions.   Good luck!

Just a friendly reminder that even if you get your period every 28 days it does not mean that you ovulate on day 14 of your cycle.  Though with fertile cervical fluid happening around that time it does increase the likelihood that you did ovulate at least within a few days of the 22nd.  Even so, if it ended up being 2 or 3 days later than the 22nd, it could still be too early to test.  Just keep that in mind if you get another BFN and no AF... then test again in 3 days or so.

If the test is suppose to show a plus then the faint "neg" line would really be a positive right? Most tests have a control line (the is usually dark) to say yes the test was performed and the test is working. You usually will get 2 lines, a plus sign or the word pregnant for a positive. If you had 1 line, no plus sign then not pregnant. I am confused when you say you get a faint neg? Maybe I am reading this wrong.

If it's the Equate test then it has a +/- window, unlike typical HPT's that show nothing for negative and one line or a plus sign for positive.  I also just read that there is widespread misinformation on the net about Equate tests saying they require hCG levels of 100, but that in fact they actually have a sensitivity of 25.  But I still think in the OP's case that it was probably too early to get an accurate result.

so AF was suppose to show up today and it didnt ive just had light light brown spotting ? advice ?????

Well spotting can be caused by a variety of things, but since today was likely the day of expected AF it makes sense that it's hormonal in nature.  However, there's really no way to know for certain what's causing it and really it doesn't make your chances of being pregnant any less or any more at this point.  Unfortunately, all you can do is wait and test.  Speaking of, did you test today?

Sorry AF found you!  Are you considering temping and charting cervical fluid this next cycle so you can better pinpoint O?   Just post if you're interseted and would like help getting going!  Good luck!
