Modesty and home water birth?

I'm planning a home water birth (or at least water labor) in November and I've been pondering what to have on hand to wear. When I'm not in the water I planned on wearing a sports bra and jersey skirt, but I'm trying to figure out what to do about bottoms in the water. I was thinking that I would like to have something that I can wear in the water up until I would be pushing that could be easily removed. I'm super modest and during my last birth I was even more hyper aware of not being exposed, so I'm trying to plan accordingly. Any ideas?

Hi! I had a lovely waterbirth, although mine was only half modest, lol. I wore a swim suit takini top and although I too wanted to wear a skirt in labor, that thing was off before entering that tub, out of my own will. Sometimes I guess labor doesn't go as planned wink1.gif I wanted modest, and in the end still ended up with nothing on. Yeah, even my top was off- no idea why! No one else took it off me. This is the second time it's happened, too. I start out modest, and end up naked. Let me know if you figure something out! I'd love to have this next birth of mine filmed this time so it'd be nice to figure out how to keep SOMETHING on!

I have a snap press somewhere, so I'm contemplating putting snaps on the side of a bathing suit bottom so it can be take off super easily. I have no clue how well that will work though.

I have worn the same sports bra for all of my births.  I was bottomless in the tub and had a large crowd.  I plan to have a couple of friends at my birth this time and was really thinking of wearing a birthing skirt.  However, during all of my labors, having anything around my lower waist was not an option.  We will see how it goes this time around.

Old Navy has jersey stretch skirts that would work pretty well. They have a yoga type waistband that could be folded up or down. Using a sarong might work, too. I have a couple from Hawaii that are meant to be used as a bathing suit cover up, and tie around the waist. Some loose, comfy gauchos might work, too.

One of my close friends did a water birth.  She just went out and bought a string bikini bottom and when the time came, she just untied it and took it off.

I was in and out of the tub in both of my labors.  I wore a sports bra on top and nothing on the bottom (while in labor).  When I got out of the tub I'd put pants on to walk around the house.  This worked for me as the majority of my body was under the water, I didn't feel exposed at all.

I have a Binsi Skirt that I'm going to wear during labor, but not in the pool. It buttons up the side so it's easy to remove, but it would be too long and cumbersome in the water. What about getting a swim skirt like this and cutting out the attached bikini bottoms?

I'm going to wear a swim skirt while I'm in the tub (we can't actually have water birth, but water labor)... it's like a cover up I suppose ebcause it doesn't have bottoms attached.
