I'm looking for ways to support my liver during pregnancy. I have a sort-of unusual situation in that I get IVIG treatments for Stiff Person Syndrome. I got a dextrose based solution last time, and my liver enzymes spiked halfway through the 3-day treatment. I had to discontinue while my doctor researched other options. I asked to try dividing the dose into 3-4 treatments per month instead of 3 days in a row. That alone should help some. Unfortunately, if my enzymes spike again, IVIG isn't an option anymore. That would stink, because long-term, IVIG is easier on the body than muscle relaxers and pain killers.
The doc has me set up for a course of a saline based infusion, but I'm waiting for my perinatologist consult to get the okay from them. I have a couple weeks before that appointment. Aside from eating a clean diet, how can I help my liver function as well as possible? Thank you.
