Suede plus mold -- how to clean?

So, in our last place, we managed to get some kind of dusty, green mold on a few of our items. One of those items included my favorite peep-toe pumps! I don't wear them often, but i do LOVE them, and i don't want to be rid of them.

someone suggested that i clean them with white vinegar and water (spray bottle) and then blot. 

would this work?

or am i lost?

in other news, yucky toys (gifted to us) with a moldy smell plus sadly too-moldy-to-save jewelry box and a few other items are out now. yuck!

I would try it. As long as the smell is gone and there are no stains, I think they'd be fine.
