Hello mommies and mommies-to-be!!

My name is Lucy, and this is my first post!! I am 38 and currently my husband and I are trying to conceive ... it'll be our first. (I know, I'm a late bloomer.) Well, our first if you don't count Bozman, our manic-depressive grayhound.

I have a question right off the bat: Is anyone taking fish oil in addition to folic acid? My OBGYN recommended it yesterday ... but I'm not sure why ... I have researched both but I am not quite sure why I would need both and my research doesn't really make it clear:

I suppose I should have asked the doctor ... I am going to call later this morning when the office opens ...

Also I don't know how I managed to make this entire post look all strange like this...

Hi, Lucy!  I took Coromega throughout my pregnancies, which is fish oil.

Hello and welcome to the Mothering board!  If you are writing a post, there is a toolbar across the top: Source - Normal - Size and so on.  Underneath Source are the centering options.  You probably clicked on right justify by accident.

As far as omega 3's go, I take them regularly now, while not pregnant, but didn't take them while pregnant.  I googled it and found there was a report that a diet rich in essential fatty acids can help the development of the fetus. http://www.webmd.com/baby/news/20040716/pregnant-omega-3-essential-for-babys-brain
