Hi All --

 

I have twin girls and was planning on getting them started on their first baby dolls soon.  I was going to give one of them my favorite dolly from when I was little (she is in great shape) and I had found and purchased off of e-bay the same doll in "new" condition for my other daughter.

 

However...when my mom dropped off my doll and I put the two dolls side by side, I realized that though they were the same doll -- they were different sizes.  This ain't going to work -- I wanted essentially just one baby doll and one baby doll size so all the clothing and other doll "stuff" would all work interchangeably. 

 

I have decided to tuck the vintage dolls away until they are older and I am looking for advice and recommendations on people's favorite dolls.   I do like some of the Corolle baby dolls -- I like the bald head and the feel of the body however they do not seem to be offered in the 15 inch size.  About everything I'm running across on the internet for accessories and clothes (for baby dolls versus the 18 inch American Girl style dolls) seems to be most commonly found in 15 inch (probably due to the whole bitty baby thing).  I have looked at the bitty babies but I'm not a huge fan of their faces.

 

So -- any advice or recommendations for other baby dolls?  Do people recommend sticking with a 15 inch size or am I overestimating the difficulty in doing 14 or 17 inch dolls?
