Thanks for the new thread!

Thought I would post an update, since it's been awhile... I'm 11 dpo.  So far, I've either surpassed my longest postpartum LP or I'm coming up to it tomorrow... I posted a question in a new thread about how to calculate LP, since I'm re-thinking the one cycle where I had decided I had a 12 day LP because I'm not sure if I should have included the day(s) where I had some spotting.  If anybody has any info on this, I'd sure be interested in it...  I'm tempted to test early, but I'm worried I will jinx myself.  However, on Friday we have an appointment with our fertility doc to talk about a game plan if we are to have any hope for a sibling for our DS.  (I wish I had time on my side, but I don't...)  Anyhow, it would be good to know if I was pregnant or not, I'm thinking!  I have to admit, I am feeling a *little* hopeful since there is no sign of AF yet.  Well, I shouldn't say that with 100% certainty-- I have had some mild twinging sensations happening in my lower abdomen these last couple of days; I keep thinking they are AF cramps but I don't have them for days before AF starts, though.  Another thing, I had the weirdest taste in my mouth this morning-- like blood in my mouth, even though there wasn't.  I'm chalking that mostly up to the fact I hadn't brushed my teeth right after waking up, though.  I'm sure I'm totally capable of creating some psychsomatic signs, which is why I'm not putting a lot of stock into it... just a little.  I just want to be pregnant and have another baby so badly, and before my eggs decide their all going to go 'kaput' on me...

Hope everyone else is doing well.  Anybody planning on testing in the next few days?

hi, can you change me to waiting to catch first pp egg?

FF took my cross hairs away (not entirely unexpected) so I guess I'm not getting my cycle back yet shake.gif

I'm now in the 2WW (fingers crossed)!!  I had a very significant temp rise last night (I think thanks to an acupuncture appt).  I took out that random high temp and got my CH :)  I did have some really light spotting yesterday but I'm going to stay optimistic and hope my treatment last night will take care of it.

Hi ladies!  TenzinsMama, I am 11 DPO too!  FF is saying to wait until 8/10 to test, which would be 17 DPO, but I would like to test at 14 DPO.  I had some EWCM yesterday and it has otherwise been creamy since I ovulated.  I am starting to feel a little crazy and wanting test, but I don't think I can handle seeing a negative test, I would rather just hold out for my period!  My LP was 12 days last month (my first post-miscarriage cycle).  The cross hairs on my chart are still dashed since I put in the EWCM data yesterday.  What do you all think?

Ava's Mama, I know what you mean about wanting to test but then being afraid to, and thinking it is better to just get AF if it is going to come rather than have two crushing things.  I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage, that's SO hard, especially to go so long and think you are in the clear... I really hope you receive good news this cycle!

So, I was thinking that if I am going to get a bfp this cycle, my testing day should be the 9th-- next Tuesday.  That would be when I'd be 17 days past O.  I thought it would be fun today if I had tested early and received a bfp, because it is my son's first birthday and it would be fun knowing that his later 'gift' would be a sibling.  However, if there was only 1 line showing, I'd feel so disappointed and I don't want anything to spoil this special day.  Then, I'm thinking that I should test before our appointment at the fertility clinic tomorrow morning, but, again... too afraid.  I'm really thinking that 14dpo seems pretty reasonable to me, given my short LPs since ppaf... but then, there are reasons why FF and our fertility clinic suggest waiting the 17 days, right?  Even if we used a sensitive HPT?  I guess because the levels of HCG can vary so much, by 17 dpo it should be high enough in most people with most HPTs?  I really do think I should wait...

What do you think you are going to do?

UPDATED!!

TenzinsMama - It is soooo hard to decide to test.  I don't think I could hold out past 12 DPO personally, but I have a short LP.  I do think that being disappointed today would be hard b/c it's your little guys birthday.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY to him and HAPPY BIRTH DAY to you!!!  So exciting.  Also, I have a friend who was TTC for a while and at her first RE appointment, she found out she was pregnant when she did the standard urine test.  So, that could be you too!!!  fingersx.gif  Also, I try to think, if I am pregnant, then the test won't change between now and when I decide to test.  So, testing won't "speed it up" or make it happen if that makes any sense?  Good luck!  I will be thinking about you.

Ava's Mama - fingersx.gif.  Good luck and keep us posted.  I hope August is the month of the BFP.  I got my BFP in late August with my DD.  Would LOVE to be among the success stories with you!

zoe77 - Yay!  Hope you have a nice, long LP and a sticky bean at the end of it!

Niniel - bummer.  Hope you O really soon!

AFM, no +OPK so far (have taken 9!). Hoping today is the day.  I've had LOTS of EWCM for the past few days.  I'm really bummed b/c last cycle, my LP was only 7 days.  I've been taking B50 Complex since the start of this cycle with the hopes of my LP getting longer.  I'm now on CD 18 and I O'ed on CD 20 last cycle.  So, I'm not expecting any B50 miracles :(  Also, I find it hard to BD without knowing that an egg is coming when BDing and TTC seems so forced and contrived.  I am really hopeful that today I will get that +OPK and that my cycle might be a little longer this month. Hopefully, it will be long enough for implantation to be successful.  I also got some NPC to start right after I O in hopes that it will help with the short LP.  For those of you doing acupuncture, are you going to a fertility specialist for that?  I'm considering it for next cycle.  There is a very inexpensive community acupuncture place near me, but not sure how good it would be for fertility issues.

I think with my DD I tested positive on 13 or 14 DPO (I didn't chart at that time the way I do now).  With my 2nd pregnancy (the one that ended in a miscarriage) I held out on testing until the suggested test date from FF which was 16 DPO.  From what I have read it seems that most tests will be pretty accurate at 14 DPO.  The only thing holding me back this month is that I O'd a little earlier than previous cycles, so even if I tested at 14 DPO it would only be CD 26, so I feel like I should wait until FF suggested date.  TenzinsMama, do you want to be testting buddies?  Anyone else want to join us?  When do you want to test?  14 DPO or FF suggested date?  We can keep each other strong!

SKJ - I go to acupuncture and I love it.  I had a lot of hip and back pain with my DD and I just chose this particular practice because they were in my network (even though insurance didn't end up covering it).  Anyways, I have been seeing him again since getting my first PPAF in December and it does turn out the fertility is one of their specialties.  I have a friend that owns a community clinic and her specialty is fertility as well, so it might be worth asking the community clinic about it!

Thanks!  I will check it out.  I tried acupuncture for terrible pregnancy headaches and it didn't to much for those, although I was very relaxed during the sessions.  If I don't get my BFP this month, I will be adding on acupuncture.

My acupuncturist does specialize in fertility.  It is very relaxing, amazing with all those pins stuck in you :)  I had some spotting already today, so it's not looking so good for me.  I had very light spotting yesterday also and my acupuncturist did a "stop bleeding" treatment last night.  I guess it didn't work :(  It's looking like I really will have to fully wean in order to conceive again.  Not the end of the world, but very frustrating when everyone around you IRL is getting pregnant while nursing way more often than I currently am.

zoe - how old is your DC?  And, how many PP cycles have you had?  My DD is 15months and I'm on my 4th PP cycle.  But, I only charted last cycle, so I don't have much info to go on.  It seems like everyone is different in terms of how their body works TTC and nursing.  Some people get pregnant no problem and others aren't able to conceive until their DC is older.  It's so frustrating.  I really hope your body starts to work with you on this!  hug2.gif

SKJ - My son turned 3 yesterday and I got my first PP AF a year ago this week.  I finally get in to see a midwife at the end of this month so maybe she will have some ideas.  Thanks for the encouragement!!

Happy birthday!  Good luck and I hope the midwife has some answers.  Thinking good thoughts for you.

Just wanted to check in and say that I got a +OPK today!  I'm really excited b/c I've been testing for the last 10 days.  I'm on CD 18 and I O'ed on CD20 last cycle, so I'm really hoping that this cycle is longer than my last one (27 days).  I'm planning on using NPC as soon as I know that I've O'ed.  I'm feeling really hopeful.  I conceived my DD in August, so maybe this is my baby making month! fingersx.gif

Thanks for the new thread :)

I've decided to try this cycle if I O while we are in town. We are going away for a couple of short trips and our donor won't be traveling with us obviously ;) So, I'm not sure we'll be able to do any insems but if the timing is right we'll try. My m/c lasted pretty much exactly the same as my regular af does...just REALLY heavy. I feel pretty good about trying again. I can be moved to Waiting to O, please!

I did weekly acupuncture by a fertility specialist when TTC DD and I'm doing it again with the same doctor. I'm also doing chinese herbs. Both have a great effect on my well being and my cycles!

Ava'sMama and TenzinsMama....I hope you both get a BFP this cycle! orngbiggrin.gif

SKJ: Hooray for a positive opk! I get so excited when I see one too!

Carmen - Your positivity is inspiring!  I'm so glad to hear that you are ready to jump in to trying again.  I hope the timing works out for you this cycle.  I feel like lots of people get pregnant with a sticky bean the cycle after a miscarriage.  Thinking good thoughts for you and sending lots of dust.gif

FF still hasn't given me CH :(  My temp was a little lower today than it was yesterday.  But it's still well above my pre O temps.  No spotting so far today :)  My acupuncturist says that due to the spotting already my chances are low this month, but there is still a chance.  Trying to stay optimistic . . .

zoe - I think you need one more higher temp and then you'll see CHs.  I hear ya on trying to stay optimistic.  It's hard.  I'll think good thoughts for you!  BTW, do you want me to put a link to your chart on the main page of the thread?
