Setting up a nursing corner for the new baby & my dd. What to include to also keep my almost 3 yr old entertained? A bookshelf ( she loves to listen to stories) . Any other good ideas- maybe a basket w/ revolving toys?

A doll she can "nurse" while you nurse the baby?

My DD will spend a LONG time sitting quietly with a Magna-doodle; I always keep it around for times when I need her to sit still in one place.  Something like that might be good, or crayons and paper.

Someplace convenient to set your water -- and a cup for your DD, too.  I've found that my DD begs to nurse every time the baby's nursing, so I frequently mix up a "special drink" before I sit down to nurse the baby -- usually carbonated water with a splash of fruit juice, or fresh lemonade -- and pour a cup for each of us.  It reminds me to keep hydrated while I'm nursing, and it keeps her distracted long enough that she won't tug on my arm whining, "Maaaama milk!!!  Maaaaama milk!!!"
