Toddler who is frightened of other toddlers

My 20 month old daughter is freaked out by other toddlers because she was hit at a play date. Now she cries and doesn't want to be around other kids. I'd love advice about helping her trust her peers again.

My DS has this issue too.  He was late in walking with poor balance early on, so he was knocked down ALOT by the other rowdy kids at daycare.  It made him wary of other kids his own age.  They were just too rough and tumble for him.  I switched him to a smaller calmer daycare, made sure to play around calm kids at the park and library.  Sometimes that meant he played only around the 4 and 5 year olds as they are more predictable and less likely to just plow him over.  As he's gotten bigger and older, it's gotten better.  I think you'll just need to find some more mellow play groups for now and let her come out of it as she grows.

Thanks so much. That makes sense. I will give you advice a try. Cheers
