The other thread about naps got me wondering... how much sleep does your toddler get at night? And by that I mean how much time elapses between when they fall asleep in the evening to when they wake for the day, even if they wake up in the middle of the night.

DS (17 months) will not go to sleep before 8, no matter when we start the bedtime routine. That would be fine if he slept late, but he's usually up by 6, which I don't think is enough sleep.

My 2y sleeps between 11-12 hours a night, closer to 12 most days. He doesn't nap anymore and actually sleeps more now then what he did when he was taking a nap.

My almost 2yr old has always been an incredible sleeper. He goes down at 7 (he'd like to go down earlier), wakes around 6:30 (sometimes 7:30). When he's at daycare he naps for an hour. When he's at home, he normally naps 2hrs. It's amazing. It's often Annoying - as a working mom, I'd love it if he'd stay up a bit later so I could spend more time with him! But 12hrs a night has been consistent with him since he started sleeping through the night. Guess that's just what he needs.

My 17 month old gets 12-13 hours a night.  Usually bed around 6pm and up between 6am and 7am.

DD is almost 3.  She'd always been a terrible sleeper, never napping longer than 20-40 min, gave up naps at 20 months, and never ever STTN as an infant/toddler.  Once she hit like 2.5, we moved her to her own room and she sleeps MUCH better!!  As of now, she goes to bed by 930 and wakes for the day around 8:30 or 9 am.  She usually sleeps thru, but might wake up at 4 or 5 am for a kiss on the cheek and her sheets fixed.  I chose 11-12 hours from the poll.

My nearly 3 y/o tends to go down at 9 pm and is up at 7 am. I worry that he is not getting enough sleep as well but 10 hours is leading the poll. Hmm...

DD is 34 months old. She has been sleeping consistently through the night for about 3 months. She naps about an hour at school; we don't let her nap that long at home.

Bedtime has been between 9:30-10:00 this summer, but we're trying to get it a little earlier. We're moving towards 9:15 bedtime.

We get her up around 6:45-7:00 am in the morning because we have to in order to get to school/work on time. But she'll sleep until 7:30-8:00 if allowed to sleep in.

I selected 10 hours on the poll, but that's an average. It varies from 9.5-10.5.

DD only gets about 9 hours.  She is usually asleep by 10 and up around 7.  She still naps a couple of hours in the afternoons.  I'm sure I could get her to bed earlier if I encouraged her to drop the nap, but she really seems to still need it.  I also worry that she isn't getting enough sleep, but if I try to put her to bed earlier it just doesn't work and she rolls around, nurses, rolls around, etc.

My daughter just turned 2 this week.  She typically goes to bed around 8 and wakes up around 8 but since she moved to a toddler bed I think she has been getting up earlier and looking at books in her bed (and letting mom sleep in !!! yea!)

She normally takes a 2 hour nap (though I think she plays for half of it - I often hear her talking to herself and her toys in there when she is supposed to be napping)
