New From Tucson :)

Hello everyone!

After being sent numerous links to this forum by a very good friend (hinting), I decided to go ahead and start an account here and start doin' some stalking and learning. She showed me the July Newborn thread just to get my uterus knocking again. Congratulations to those Mommies and Daddies! Beautiful little ones!

My name is Renee and I am 25 years old; married to the most amazing man in the world. We have been married for a little over a year now and have been discussing babies. We actually started talking babies a while ago, but with his up-coming deployment (USAF), he wanted to be a part of everything and we are now waiting until his return.

We are very excited! There are eons for me to learn and understand about those cute little ones people (especially old ladies) love to fawn over.

Until he returns, I have a just turned 4 year old horse named Gertie, two dogs, a kitten, and a rabbit to keep me really busy. I do not work, but I ride and train my horse 3-4 times a week. I do plan to continue riding once/if OK'd by my doctor and we are in the clear (I believe it's after the 1st trimester from what I've read and friends have said?) to be able to do so. If I'm unable for any reason, that's okay too! I like staying active and there are plenty of activities I can do with and without my horse. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, no worries!

I currently have an IUD and will be getting that out as soon as he deploys and hopefully my body will be back to normal by the time he returns. He won't be on a long deployment (about 4 months) so I have time to start preparing. We already picked out a crib, changing table, bedding, nursery room colors, etc., and friend mentioned has already sent us a nice "start-up package"--LOL, consisting of the cutest baby girl clothes, nipple cream and a whole lot of goodies!

When the time comes, I do not want to know the gender. I know there will be disgruntled family members and friends, but I don't care. It's not a decision that is up to them. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always said I will not want to know and still stand firm. DH isn't so happy about that, he wants to know what clothes (colors) and such to buy. I'm great at compromising, but this is not going to be one of them. This gives us an opportunity to be more creative ;)

Anyway, thank you for reading and hopefully I won't be too shy to ask questions. I'm completely out of my element here, so I tend to actually be a little shy then (Sarah--I know it's hard for you to believe if you're reading this!) I'm a horse-person, although I love kids!

Nice to meet y'all :)

Welcome.gif Your life sounds so fun! And I totally agree about not finding out the sex. I did with my first, but not with my other two. It was so exciting! With my second everyone had convinced me she was a boy, so when they handed me this big(9lb13oz) baby girl, I was so stunned and will never forget that moment. My first was a boy so I think I really was hoping for a girlwinky.gif. With my third, I knew she was a girl and was pleased to be proven right! It's one of the mysteries of life and I'm so glad I kept it that way. Anyways, glad to have you here and I'll see you around the board!
