My 3 year old son has just contracted Herpetic Whitlow in the end of his thumb.
His thumb has swollen up really bad and he's in a lot of pain.

I'm very concerned about future outbreaks, considering he now has this virus for the rest of his life.

Can anyone provide any stories of you or your child with Herpetic Whitlow? How often do they have outbreaks? how bad are the outbreaks in comparison to the initial outbreak? Are they getting better over time?
