AFM:  My thermometer died this morning.  Should I try and buy the same brand (BD brand) or just go get another basal thermometer at the drugstore?  I'm glad I'm in the TWW and not waiting to O!!

Kitten - That is cool that we are on the same cycle, we can be cycle buddies!  Any idea why the chart is giving so many O days or has yours been doing that for more than one month?  Mine previously was only giving me 1 O day and a few days before the most fertile days. 

AndtheStars - the little icons are supposed to mean the days you are most fertile right before O.. but my chart is giving me so many O days, who knows really.  We are going for every other day as well, but are finding it a bit difficult as we are usually once a weekers, and hubby is getting a little worn out.. so hopefully we can keep this up for another couple weeks =/

Arby - That is absolutely a second line!!  Congratulations!!  There are "false" (too early) negatives, but a positive is a positive.  I'm so excited for you!  

Janellody - I've been charting off and on for the last seven years, so I'm not sure how long it's been giving me such a long fertile window.  My cycles have been really irregular for a while -- my ovaries have a mind of their own and I O anywhere from CD13 to CD 23 (or later) -- and I have a LP defect (it varies from 5-14 days).  Can you link to your chart?

Corgi - On FF, there is a link on the left-hand side that says "Settings."  From there, click on "Home Page Settings" and at the top it will display the link for your shareable charting page.  If you haven't set up your home page yet, you'll have to do that first (it only takes a minute).

Ok so, today, I SEEM to have maybe EGCM but I rarely feel like I really KNOW what it is supposed to look like, even after reading the descriptions over and over.  It seems to be more white than clear, but it has been over 24 hours since BD, can it still be seminal fluid, do you guys know?  It is a weird time in my cycle to get EWCM so I am thinking maybe it's not really that?

I rarely observe EWCM myself (I'm hoping that supplements I'm taking this cycle will help with that), but I especially find it hard to determine when I've BD'd recently.

Looking at the charts on your page, I think I can tell why FF is giving you such a long, Sarah-ish fertile window.   Since it just has three complete cycles to analyze so far, there are some factors that make nailing down your fertile window a bit trickier.  In your May cycle, no ovulation was detected; June's looked quite lovely with a clear thermal shift and fertile CM around your O date; July has a lot of open circles (were you waking at different times in the morning?) and no fertile CM noted.  Sooo...since there aren't a lot of fertile signs to draw from, I think the software is just giving you a wider window so that you'll be more likely to have your BDing bases covered since you've only had one cycle with a very clear, solid line ovulation pattern.

AAM...   Well, that donor didn't last long. Argh!!!! This is the situation I wanted to avoid from now on, this frantic urge to find sperm right around ovulation! And now my temp went up this morningQ Huh? I also just got my first positive OPK this morning! I'm not sure what I should do now, I guess we'll see what the day brings, and see what my temp says tomorrow.

Stevi - sorry about the donor not working out and the timing making it worse! 

AFM,  I'm 7 DPO and feeling lots of cramping and am nauseous.  My hope this cycle is to not spot today and if AF does show up, for her to wait a few days so my LP lengthens.  I was doing really well being positive and living in the moment the last few days, but these stupid cramps are messing with my head.  I keep thinking, maybe the cramps are implantation?  I really don't want to get my hopes up!  Grrr.

Kitten - That makes sense!  Yeah, my sleeping patterns change often, I am a massage therapist so generally wake up whenever I feel like it, which USED to be around 8am or 8:30am but today I randomly woke up at 6:45am.. so it's weird.  Also, last month I went on a long trip and was VERY sleep deprived, so that (I think) caused my O date to be later and mess things up a bit.  This month is going ok, but still lots of open circles because I just seem to wake up at different times every day and FF doesn't like that.

CM can be soooo confusing!  Especially when we have to try to distinguish between it and semen.  Gah!

For your waking time, (here, let me throw some unsolicited advice at you) I would just set your alarm for X time, temp, and go back to sleep.  Then whenever you get up you can enter your temp.  Having a consistent temping time can make a huge difference.  

ETA: If your CM seems slippery or stretchy, I'd mark it as EW.  You can have different patches of CM through the day, so it's possible you're seeing sort of a mix or that the whiteness is a remnant of *ahem*...the hubby's contribution.

janellody- are you checking at your cervix or just what comes on on panties/tp? I found the only way I can distinguish is when I check at the cervix. A few other tips, if it leaves a wet looking patch on your panties, that is fertile, if it leaves a splotch or streak but doesn't extend out that is not fertile. Impossible still to tell with BDing frequently, usually after we start our fertile time BDing, I just assume after I first notice wet or EWCM that it stays that way, I can usually tell the difference between when it turns back to creamy & when it is just leftovers! Also, when you wipe if it feels slippery than that means fertile, if it feels dry, that means not fertile (again, doesnt work when bding). I have heard if you do kegals an hour after BD you an get the leftover sperm cleared out and that will allow you to accurately note fertile or not.

stevi- im so sorry it didn't work out, what crummy timing. was this the FWB or the monogamous donor you were considering  before?

AFM- 9 dpo, I am still having tan tinged CM, but not spotting dark blood like I usually get... this is such an unusual cycle for me... I just want Monday to come so I can schedule my testing before vacation. All the novelty of a 2ww has worn off... what do they say- the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I'm officially no longer insane, I know I need help from an RE to change anything, the waiting game just stinks.
