Apparently this is somewhat possible, according to the CDC website. He's had no fever and just has bumps on his back, and one on one of his testicles. Should I see the doc? Should I keep him out of swim class this week, even though he went all last week?

is he not feeling miserable?
Â
i would still keep him home. or have a party at your home :)Â
Â
the worst time is when it dries up and gets all itchy and the scabs start falling.
Â
i recall we were out of school for the whole time - from the moment the first pustule showed up, till all the scabs were gone. the very last one.Â
Â
i would imagine he might get just a mild attack instead of the full blown attack.Â
Â
also if he is in a swim class his bare back with those pustules might freak someone out.Â

All the kids I've known that have gotten the cp vax have gotten cp lol
You don't really need to see the doc unless it ends up not looking like chicken pox...
Lavender essential oil and/or calamine lotion are good for the itchies.
Follow his lead. He may not feel all that bad, but will need to stay home til all the spots are healed. You can as the PP mentioned have a cp party at your home though. Lots of families look for opportunities to get exposed so they can get it over with. I remember going to one or two when I was young and being encouraged to hug and share cups lol but I was probably too shy and didn't end up getting cp til I was an adult, from the children I was a nanny for, which was a major bummer! Glad it's over and done with though ![]()

Thanks, you know they don't really itch, though! We did keep him home, but he hasn't been irritated by them at all. The very first one, on his arm, bothered him, but the ones on his back haven't bothered him at all. Maybe it's something else. He feels totally fine, BTW, but I remember I did too, even though I was covered with them.
