Time to renew an old tie?

I have been thinking of reaching out to someone I haven't been in touch with for many years.  Should I go for this or leave it alone?

Leave it alone. I want you to truly examine your motives. Also, I don't think the person is ready for this and do not think they will want to be in touch.

Lol - I've actually been feeling that I do nothing else lately *but* examine my motives about the impulse to try to bring this person into my life at this time.

I believe I was hoping you'd say something like this...thanks, Jamie. Hopefully this thought will help me to let go of the idea.
