I am going back to school part time when my DC#2 is 5 months old. Â This is about a month away and DC does not take a bottle yet. Â
Â
One of the times away is in the evening and it's during the time that DC normally does this marathon sleep. Â DC#2 will be with her dad and I plan on nursing her a lot that day with one marathon session before I leave. Â The main problem I see during this time is that if she does wake she will really expect/want to nurse and will be fairly fussy if she doesn't get it. Â
Â
The other is in the morning during the time when she is most happy and sleeps well/predictably. Â She's pretty sweet during this time but she would normally eat. Â Perhaps she will be willing to take a bottle of EBF during this time because she will be relatively content? Â
Â
Could a 5 month old take EBF in some alternative way for such a sort time away from mama? Â Maybe even a cup or spoon? Â What about frozen, slushy milk? Â
Â
Another option during the day is to have the baby brought to me to nurse. Â The problem with this is that she really doesn't like the car...and it would be a pain for her caregiver (SIL). Â
Â
How long can a baby this age go without food if we don't find a way to get her to take EBM? Â Would you consider some sort of food for this brief time 2x/week? Â
Â
I appreciate your suggestions/support. Â Thanks! Â
