nak....still lots of processing, and the house is quiet so i *should* be resting.
my sweet baby was born outside in my tub last night, 8-07, at 10:04 into his mama's hands. he was a whooping 10 pounds! he had his cord wrapped tightly around his neck and was born quite floppy. he even needed a few breaths from my midwife, but luckily was still on my chest while all the rousing was going on. his first apgars were a 2.
it was a longish labor for me, about 12 hours total, but i attribute all that work to this beefy babe i am now snuggling. he also had not engaged at all previous to labor. i knew this babe was going to be big....and wasn't exactly looking forward to pushing. as it is, the slow descent worked out just right, and i didn't tear at all. i'll be damned but my sciatic nerve hurt worse then the actual pushing!!
i'll try to type out the long version soon, but had to share with my ladies!
as it is this little guy is a super nurser.....and already has to fend off his bigger sisters who just want to maul him...ahem....hold him and love him.
after a high temp (including a hospital scare) and cranky night, he is feeling much better and his temp has made it back into the normal range.
welcome, my sweet dear one.
