In a HS honeymoon!!

That ever happened to anyone? I've been reading Charlotte Mason philosophy the last couple of days and researching curricula. I'm sooo excited I can't stop talking about it to anyone who'll listen! I've been on the boards here on and off since I got pregnant with dd, but NEVER thought HS would be for me! I thought I didn't have the patience or the ability or the desire. But slowly, so slowly I didn't notice it happening, I warmed to the idea. Then the local school extended the school day by nearly an hour (really??!!) and I was told I could never attend the local Catholic schools because I don't vax and suddenly I turned like a flower towards the sun. rainbow1284.gif

It's like a whole new world has opened up now and I can't wait to get started. I feel like our biggest stumbling block may even be my exuberance. I don't really need any advice, I just wanted share and ask I guess, has anyone else ever felt this way too? I have the intense burning desire of a new convert and want to shout it out to anyone who'll listen!

Woo hooo!!!!! homeschool.giflove.gifthumb.gifhomeschool.gif!!!!!!!

Welcome!  I feel the rightness of this path for my family deep in my bones.  I have no second thoughts, no deep doubts.  Your heart song is music to my ears......

LOL!  I have totally been there--and actually I have a few bouts of exuberance each year when I get new hs-ing inspiration.  I have to admit that it boggles my mind that other people aren't "all over" this like I am.  Homeschooling is just so wonderful!

I feel like I've been on our homeschooling honeymoon for seven years now and I still love it!

Glad to hear it doesn't end!

AND sorry if I make anyone jealous here, but I just learned of a local used/consignment HS bookstore where I can go to purchase books and more importantly see them beforehand.  Woohoo!

YES YES YES!!  I've been doing this since my son was 3-4 and officially since he was 6 (there was that little mistake when I sent him to kindy for a semester but that is more of a joke between us than anything).  I love HS and even though I work in the school system HS is the right choice for my child.

He can move at his own pace-as fast as he needs, I can pick the books that work for him, we can do a mix of online, and unschooling LOL.  We go through phases of total excitement and the blahs.

7 years of this and I never get tired.  I love our local Half Price Books and the library.
