we gave dd an atlas for her birthday this year.  she loves it and reads it all the time, so i'm thinking of getting her a globe.  anyone have any recs?  a lot of the ones i've seen seem really cheap to me.

We have the Intelliglobe by Replogle which is AWESOME! It's expensive, but I think worth it if you can possibly afford it. My kids spend a lot of time using the game and teaching functions, and then also refer to it for any geography questions they have.

Or anything by Replogle is good quality. One without bells and whistles can be as cheap as $40.

If you have a large budget there's a globe that

has a light inside it and a motor to turn it to continuously

demonstrate the earth's rotation and what parts of the world

are currently experiencing night or day. It's also a clock. It's

the Cram Sunlit World Globe

We have the Intelliglobe also and my kids love it!  It really is awesome :)  It was on sale at Costco over the holidays for $80, so I know it's been available for less than on amazon.com right now.

thanks, i'll keep my eye on it.  it'll probably be a x-mas gift, so i can wait a bit.  $80 doesn't sound nearly as bad.
