Great news- baby is no longer breech!

I just have to share that today (at 37 weeks, 5 days) I was booked for an external version for my persistently breech baby and when the OB peeked in there with the ultrasound, little mister was finally head down! I felt a whole weight lift off my shoulders, as the talk for the past few weeks has been about booked c-section and small chance of vaginal breech birth if the stars lined up right, etc, etc.

In case your baby is breech, have hope! He or she could wiggle around and get head down yet. This morning at 3:30 am I woke up to baby wriggling like crazy for an hour or more before he settled and I could go back to sleep. I think that's when it happened, though I didn't feel any huge movements. Actually, he has woken me at about the same time for 3 or 4 nights in a row now, so I'm curious to see if I sleep all night tonight now that he is finally head down.

By the way, I have been seeing a chiropractor for care for the past 2 weeks for Webster technique and other general back and pelvis care with the hope that better alignment and tension release would help baby turn. The unexpected benefit has been relief from back pain and pubic symphysis pain that has been radiating down my left leg.

Other things we did/tried: talking to baby, gentle clockwise or counter-clockwise belly massage, swimming, homeopathy (pulsatilla), inverted positions (though I thoroughly dislike these and only did it about once a day) and some gentle yoga when I felt like it.

With the due date less than 3 weeks away (August 26th), I'm mighty happy indeed!
