Is it molluscum contagiosum...

... if there is no dimple in the middle of the bumps?  DS has had a rash on his torso, legs, and elbows for close to 18 months.  The bumps are skin-colored and pearly, look pretty wart-y and sometimes itch.  The rash looks very much like photos I've seen of MC, but there is no indent in the middle of the bumps, and the bumps have not seemed to fall off at all, he just gets more of them.  I thought it was clearing up and it's now looking worse.  What is this?!

It could be. My ds had MC and the indentations weren't very obvious in some of his bumps. We got rid of them with white vinegar. I'd wipe them with vinegar and cover each one with a bandaid over night. It took about 10 days for them to go away.

Thanks for the reply, homemademom.  Did you use pure white vinegar or did you dilute it at all?  I have not tried to treat the rash topically yet and it's probably worthwhile to try.

Edit: nm, I read about what you did in a reply in another thread... I'm going to try it.  Thanks again!

Sure thing!  I hope it helps.  The only bad thing for us was that ds started having a skin reaction to the adhesive in the bandages. The redness there (an outline in the shape of the bandaid) took longer to heal than the MC.
