I recently read 2 books regarding special needs and diets that I think might be helpful to a lot of parents on this forum.
Â
1)Special Needs Kids Eat Right by Judy Converse
Â
2) What's Eating Your child? by Kelly Dorfman
Â
Converse's book goes more at length of various tests that your child might need to go through before discovering the root of the problem. she also focuses mostly on children on the autism spectrum (but it's still a good read for others).
Â
Dorfman's book has specific chapters on various disorders: ADD/ADHD, OCD, SPD, Autisim spectrum, speech issues, etc... However, reading the whole book--- not just the chapters that relate to your child-- is eye-opening.
Â
hope this helps someone. I read the book over the weekend and started my son on fish oil and vitamin E for anxiety and SPD.
