pull up power?

does anyone know if pull ups have as much holding power as regular diapers?  my 2.5 yr ds leaks at night plus we have an issue with him wanting to run around naked after bath.  i'm afraid he will pea and slip and fall on the hardwoods.  right now we use a nighttime diaper with an extra large diaper cover over it.  he still leaks at times.  it would be so much easier to slip on a slip on after bath plus we are transitioning him to a bed soon and don't want the changing table in there so standing changes will be easier.  i'm just wondering if they are made more for catching small amounts of liquid since the idea is the baby is training at the same time...which will come after the bed transition.

Pulls are less absorbant than regular diapers.

Have you considered putting him on the potty after his bath?

have been trying that and he only tinkles a tiny bit...cuz he knows he gets a sticker...and then goes the rest of the way in the bath.  we try hard to limit his liquid intake too but it's so hot out and water is a big thing to us.  but he at least goes before bedtime.  he's always been a big leaker at night.  thanks for the suggestion.

i haven't started full research on potty training yet but what can i say to get him to actually go on the toilet?

Huggies are making those"new" pull on diapers also nighttime pull ups such as good nights might be a good choice.

Even the regular pull up night diapers don't hold too much if you have a super soaker. For that you might have to go to the older kid pull ups like Good Nights or Under Jams, the ones meant for big kids who wet at night. UnderJams hold more then Good Nights do, I have a almost 5y who soaks through everything but those. And night time potty training rarely happens at the same time as day time, it is entirely different to stay dry all night then peeing in the potty durign the day so it might be something you have to deal with for a while to come. Like my DD2 who has been PLed during the day for close to 3 years now, but has to wear a diaper at night. One of these days!

We use Pampers pull ups and have a super morning soaker. Since switching to them we have never had a leak ... but we always keep her diaper a bit on the big side.

p.s peeing and slipping happens once, then not much after. It is pretty hard to pee AND run so just keep an eye out.

aw that's too funny!  never thought about that!  a friends dd did do it and had a fear of peeing after bath for a couple weeks.  apparently she was running back to the bathroom for daddy to help her pee and she slipped.  but they don't know maybe she peed walking away from the bathroom first.

You don't have to really say anything. Just work it into the routine and he'll usually figure it out. On the potty before the bath "we put our pee pee in the potty so it doesn't make the bath water dirty" If they don't go before the bath and you think they were dry during the bath then try it after the bath. And repeat, repeat, repeat. I found Diaper Free Before 3 really helpful.
