New Features: Chat and 100 Posts Per Page

We finally have a Chat Room! All members have access and it is open for use. Just go to www.mothering.com/community/chat and give it a try. 

The features are basic so you won't find any expanded functionality. But it does what it is meant to - give us a place to chat live with a group of members. We are launching it with no moderation but we do expect members to uphold our general "respectful and comfortable" rules so please keep that in mind. 

Also to announce is the release of the option to display up to 100 posts per page in a discussion thread. Just go to your Profil and click on 

Edit Account Details

On that page scroll down to here and set your Post Per Page:

Forum Preferences

Default to the Full-Page Editor(?)

View Forums Full Width(?)

Constrain Threads to Constant Width(?)

Hide User Avatars(?)

Hide User Signatures(?)

Hide 'My Stuff' in Signatures(?)

I tried to get to the chat room and it's saying I'm not allowed access to the chat room.

I'm in.  But no one else is so I'm not sure if I'm in a room all on my own, or if there really isn't anyone else on MDC chat.

very cool, although it's pretty lonely in there right now.  don't much feel like chatting with myself.  i'm guessing it'll take a while to catch on.  once it does, will it just be one big chat or will there be different chats for different topics?

Hmm I love the idea of chat, although every time I've checked in (which isn't much yet since I just found out about it!) it's empty. Maybe a few scheduled chats would get things rolling??
