We just finished watching Soul Surfer as a family. This is the movie about the 13 year old surfer whose arm was bitten off by a shark but she went on to not only surf again, but go to nationals and become a professional surfer. Very powerful story about facing difficulties, not letting the mean girls get you done, and finding purpose.
Because it's based on a true story, it gives our daughters a role model of a young woman who is strong, brave, courageous, and who cares about others.
Parts of it are tough to watch. We see the shark, we see a lot of blood, etc. But still a very powerful film.
