In our old UA this was not permitted. We've since simplified our UA so nothing specific is mentioned. However, the general "respectful and comfortable" applies to all discussions. So it really depends on what was done and the intent behind it. It's not really cool to start a thread to talk about someone's post in another thread. That's not really being respectful of the other member.
Â
However, it's fine to decide in a thread that a topic needs to go to a new thread. But it should be something mutually agreed upon, like - "Hey MamaX - would you be okay with me taking your post and starting a new thread with it to create a new discussion?" That would be an okay way to create a spinoff thread. But to do it in an adversarial manner or without respecting the other member's right to her post content would not.  And sometimes you really should participate right in the thread of discussion where it is taking place, not take it and make another issue of a statement elsewhere. So, it depends. You can report something you think is inappropriate and we'll take a look. ![]()
