Boise Midwife question

Thread Starter

So, I know people have asked for recommendations on Boise midwives on this forum before- trust me I went WAY back into the archives before deciding to ask but there wasn't much info :(

The main question I have is are there any independent midwives in Boise? I know that there are two birth centers and one will send their midwives to your house for a home birth. I'm just wondering, if I want a home birth is that my only option?

Also, if you have had any your baby with the Treasure Valley Midwives could you please tell me a little bit about it?

Thank you so much!!!!

I've never delivered with them, but for my next child I plan to, as I'm hoping for VBA2C, and they're the only one who will take that case...

Julia Swart is an independent midwife who attends homebirths. I had a very good impression of her during our interactions. Unfortunately, I can't have her as my provider thanks to the stupid Idaho law changes in 2010. I weigh 20 pounds too much, so I'm clearly a ticking time bomb and much too unpredictable for a home birth or birthing center. splat.gif

Most of us midwives do not agree with certain parts of the new license rules.  It's the families that CAN make a difference for the future, at least.  It's important to unite and address (consistently) the issues with your legislators.  We'll do all we can, too.
