What will happen to my milk after DS1 gets better?

I tandem nurse DS1 who's 33 months and DS2 who's 7 months. For the last couple months, I've been limiting DS1 to only nursing when he goes to sleep (nap or night) and when he wakes up. However, he's so sick now and I've been encouraging him to nurse as often as he likes. (He sure is nursing a lot). But I'm wondering what will happen once he's better. I want to go back to our previous only at sleep and wake up routines, but am I going to get all leaky and engorged because he's not nursing as much?

you'll probably want to wean him back down slowly or have a pump ready. my toddler suddenly dropped how often she was nursing and I got mastitis.
