Can you suggest some resources regarding the flu shot for babies?

I cannot find info on this anywhere. When I search older threads I only find old posts about adult flu shots. Nothing about flu shots for babies. I am sure it has been debated a lot here.

Can you point me in the right direction?

I have researched all other vaccines, but for some reason it never crossed my mind giving this to DD. During the last visit with the ped, she strongly suggested the flu shot for DD. I said "no thanks", but DH now is bugging me about it. I want to read about it so I can have an educated opinion. Thanks!

Most flu shots for babies contain mercury. Ask the pediatrician what brand she uses, and whether it is pre-filled syringe, single-dose vial, or multi-dose vial, and let us know.

The Cochrane Review is extremely reputable source that provides independent (i.e. no corporate ties!) meta-analyses (research on all of the research), so it's a good place to start: http://www2.cochrane.org/reviews/en/ab004879.html

Good luck!

From Turquesa's link: " In children under two, the efficacy of inactivated vaccine was similar to placebo."

There's your answer. (Live virus flu vaccines are not available for babies).

Thank you ladies for the replies. This is exactly what I was looking for. I will email the meta-analysis to my ped. She always welcomes a good debate!
