Breastfeeding and Pregnant

Thread Starter

My daughter is 27mo and neither of us is ready to stop breastfeeding, but I just found out I'm pregnant.  I'm already eating the Bradley diet, but am wondering HOW many calories do I need to be consuming?

I have a friend who has a 6mo who is pregnant and nursing, who also wants to know the answer to this question.

Is the answer any different depending on our height/weight/body type/activity level, or is it a simple pure number????

Thank you,

Joy

I think it pretty much boils down to 'eat if you're hungry'. Drink lots, especially on hot days. Try to make sure most of what you eat has a lot of nutrients & get lots of protein.

I'm 18 weeks & nursing my 30 mth old & I don't worry about how many calories I'm eating. Your body knows exactly what it needs.

Wondering if I can hijack this thread...

My twins are 8.5 months old, and I took a HPT today and it looks like I got a faint positive (will be confirming with a digital probably).

We are still EBF...how will pregnancy affect my ability to nurse them?  I want to let them self wean. And has anyone else here been EBF twins and been pregnant??
