So you drive your child to school and she's still in a 5 pt harness... - Page 2

I'm glad it went well for you!

Both my boys were in 5-pt. harnesses in kindergarten, for at least the first half of the year. They were able to buckle and unbuckle their carseats before kindergarten. They are both in boosters now (3rd and 1st grade) and still buckle and unbuckle themselves.

She can do the chest clip, but she can't get the crotch strap.  It's kind of stiff, I sometimes have to work at it.  I don't think she could reach the seat belt if we switched to that.  She has a Nautilus (I think?) and it sits kind of high.  We spend a lot of time in the car and I often have my niece with me so my daughter is behind the passenger seat.  That's a long reach from the front seat (we have an SUV. "WE" did not want it and liked our smaller car just fine but there ya go.  On my long list of "things my next car will be," SMALLER is at the top!).

That's good it has all worked out. How does your daughter like school??

Thanks for asking!  So far, she say she likes it but she thought she would LOVE it (that's what she told me last night).  Yesterday, she somehow got lost between where I dropped her off and where she was supposed to go so...we are going to have to chat with someone this morning.  That was NOT acceptable.

She seems to be adapting ok.  She's getting good behavior reports and she got a good citizen ticket yesterday.  She likes her teacher.  We worried about it being too much for her physically - she gets tired easily and when she gets tired, she has set backs with her mobility issues but it's Friday and she's still going strong.  So, answered prayer.  If I can just get her a HAZMAT suit for cold and flu season...

That's great she is doing well! I hope she has a good year!
