Teeth!

My Son is a little over 12 months. Every time he gets another tooth - it seems like we have to find a new nursing position. I am getting teeth marks around my nipple :( Right now is the worst it's been. I tell him to open wider and relatch so he has a better latch but I still get the teeth marks. I feel like he's not latching like he did when he was little which is why I'm getting the teeth marks around my nipple. It's almost as if I'm gagging him so he wants to just take the nipple in his mouth. OUCH! Hope this makes some sort of sense :) Any suggestions?

I went through that with both my kids, but unfortunately I don't have a lot of great suggestions.  With my second daughter, there was always a period of adjustment with new teeth, but then she'd figure it out after a week or so.  So I'm thinking it might correct on its own, but every new teeth means a period of new adjustment.  What kinds of positions have you tried so far?  I'm wondering if laid back breastfeeding might help in this situation.  I think I just had to do some adjusting if I couldn't get it comfortable, and it seemed like there were always times I could feel the teeth digging into me, so I'd just do the same thing, telling the child to open wider and all that, and it would work for a little while at least, but usually the teeth would settle back in.

I find it helps if I hold him closer to me - if I pull his back in tight to me his teeth don't rub as much.
