10 Month old & Co Sleeping help!

My daughter is 10 months old and co sleeps with us. We have a drop side crib that side cared to our bed to become a co sleeper. She sleeps pretty well in it, but still nurses twice in the night, and somehow by morning has made it into our bed.

SO...we just found out we are expecting in April of next year oops.gif lol

We are both excited to grow our family, while we didnt expect it to be so soon....but we say "bring it on!" :)

My only concern is what do i do with DD? She will be 18 months old when the new one arrives. I planned on putting her into a room with her big bro once she was ready to co room with him. But i thought that would be when she was 2-2 1/2.

We have a queen size bed. I can have her and the new baby in the bed every night. So anyone else been in this boat before? What did you do?

I want her and her brother to co bed...so she will still be co sleeping just not with us. But at what age should we start this transition with her?

Also the nursing twice a night. I dont believe she does it because she is hungry...but i have been of the mindset that you let babies nurse on demand. So would it be cruel to start "training"(god i hate that word) her down to one feeding and then no feedings in the next 9 months?

The sleeping arrangement is really the only thing that has me worried.

We have 9 months though...and I am sure it will all figure itself out. But i need your help and want to hear what worked for you...and any advice you have.

TIA!

See.  Im asking the same question you are.  lol  Id start by suggesting a king sz bed.  Extra space is a BEAUTIFUL thing.  *hugs*

King size isnt an option. We threw down alot a year and a half ago on our Tempurpedic. I thinking that the side cared crib makes the bed a King. So if Lina need to still sleep with us...she can sleep in that. And the baby can sleep in the bed with us. Just lots of people in bed...the more to snuggle :)
