Excess fluid and prolapsed cord x post

hi all!

Just trying to get more information on this topic.

I know that a prolapsed cord is rare but everything I read says that having poly makes the risk higher. My first question is how much higher?

Second question is if my water breaks at home either in early lair or before and there's no prolapsed cord, could a prolapsed cord happen later? My widwives are risking me out of the birth center so that's why I'm wondering that.

I'm being monitored weekly AFI was 36 at 33 weeks. Before that the number were 27,24,32.

Any thoughts or advice or success stories are welcome. Thank you!

My understanding is much higher, but i don't have any numbers on it. My sister had high AF and a cord prolapse last year.. it was touch and go for the baby (he is fine now). She was told if her water breaks come immediately to the hospital. If it breaks gradually its not so much of an issue... its when it goes all at once. Sorry you are dealing with risking out with the midwives... that sucks!
