C/S ladies, how are you recovering? - Page 3

So I can NOT lay on my left side at all. It hurts when I lay on that side (right side is fine), and when I try to turn over I get a feeling like something is being torn apart. At first I thought it was just the stitches stretching but when I felt in that area, my external stitches didn't reach as far left as I was feeling the pain, so I'm thinking its something internal. Does this even make sense? I know it sounds weird since I can't tell if its the outside of my body hurting or the inside. Once I roll over completely, it takes a few seconds but the pain goes away and that's the only time I feel it. I never feel it standing up, sitting down, etc.

I had that, too. Do you have all the tape residue off? I found that lots of my pain was from that sticking.

As for inner vs outer, it's reasonable to not know. And it's a large wound through lots of layers. They can stick together as they heal. Once it's closed up, you can do some things to help it not do that :)

I think I've stopped bleeding. No blood in over 36 hrs. I made a mistake of telling DH that and he was BEGGING for sex before he left for work. Poor guy only got 2 hrs of sleep last night b/c of the baby, so I felt I owed him something, so I gave in. We took it REALLY easy. I can't say it was enjoyable, but it wasn't terrible either.

Hehehe!

Sorry, we had sex yesterday and now all sex will make me laugh for awhile.

Charlie was SOUND ASLEEP so I said, "You are getting laid in five minutes!" .. and then of course the baby woke up. I nursed him... put him down.. he needed burped. Then nursed some more... and I tried to rush him which made every take forever because he'd just get to sleep, I'd put him down and then he'd demand more food! Ended up just letting him fuss a bit. And it hurt because of the stupid condom. And then when he was done I got to hop up and reattach a baby.

The most romantic thing EVER. Glad someone else joined me in the glee ;)

"Hurry up, before he cries!!"

Did you have any pain after? I didn't! I was scared the whole time, though. Were you?

Glad I'm not the only one jumping back in the sack so soon.

I'm a little sore now in the area of my incision, but that may be b/c I have gone up and down the steps several times in the last few days, after not leaving the apartment for a week. I'm probably going to hold off another week before we do it again just in case.

Reasonable! They're scary things.  Everything has to heal well so we can get knocked up again and have our VBACs :P

DH is ready to have another baby right now. He was sad when I told him we'd have to wait at least a year. eyesroll.gif

Is/Was anyone else numb around your incision area? below the incision is fine, but pretty much the entire area btwn my belly button and incision is numb to the touch. Is this normal? does it go away?

I hear it's normal and sometimes goes away. :)

It usually goes away, but it can take a bit. During the operation, your nerves were cut and they need to regenerate. I should add though that I never fully regained feeling in the area directly under my scar after my first c/s. Nothing major, but it does feel sort of weird until one gets used to it.

I have a question, too. For those who had their second (or more) c/s, do you have two scars or one? I assumed that they had used the same entrance as last time, but when I was taking a closer look today, it almost looked like there were two scars, one had become part of the overhanging pouch and the other, newer one, seemed to be where the old one used to be. Now I am confused...

Also, how long did it take for the pouch to be less flabby and smaller? I know this is partially a weight issue, but it seems there's a lot more hanging this time than the last time even though I am in much better shape physically and not as overweight as the last time.
