Period 2 weeks after AI, Really Brown, Normal??

I got inseminated exactly 2 weeks ago. All tests came up negative. I now have my period and am worried because it's never been so frequent. It is also REALLY brown, I'm getting a lot more cramping than normal. and I mean A LOT.  I normally only get brown blood at the end of my period, just wondering if anyone has experienced this before.

I'm certainly  no expert on AI, but I wonder if the insertion process itself can lead to irritation of the uterine lining, causing it to shed slightly and that some shed blood remained in the uterus until the rest of the lining shed...?  This blood would be old and therefore brown once it came down.  Just a thought.  Good luck with next cycle!
