I need a vacuum cleaner that is easy to use so that I will use it more often.  Here's what I'm looking for:

 

light weight/relatively small upright

cordless

HEPA filter

works well on hard floors

 

We have wood and tile floors.  Dh got a vacuum to use on the rugs that is an upright with a beater (but no HEPA filter, bummer).  It has a hose, so we can do corners, messes, and furniture, but it doesn't really work on the hard floors.

 

I hate vacuum cleaners -- the noise, the effort of dragging them around, getting tangled in the cord, running out of cord, etc.  My dh has environmental allergies (pollen, mold, etc.) Ds had HUGE tonsils, so I'm working on figuring that out and want to have the house cleaner.  We have a black lab, so plenty of dog hair around.

 

Recommendations for your favorite vacuum would be great.  TIA
