Off Topic but is there a thread where I can learn what all this BBAF, AF, DTD etc means?

Trying to Conceive #2 - Page 40
Ok just need to vent and I mean ugly vent, please forgive me. I am on another round of good old clomid which please do not get me wrong I am very thankful for it. However I have now gained 7lbs :( and no baby. Face looks like a pimpled high schooler and I did not have acne in high school .:( Then I see a friend posted her valentines bouquet and it was a 6 pack of beer she is 28weeks pg WTH? Seriously I am just having a wth days rofl.
OK now that I have unloaded I can pull up my big girl pants and look forward to going away for the weekend with my family. It will be a little early for OV- but I still plan on making the most of it:) Not to mention relaxing !!!!!!

No Problem with venting, Ohmother! Yikes. That's messed up about the beer. I've had acne for 15 years, so yeah, it's super annoying and I'm sorry you're struggling with it!And, I hope you feel better as your cycle moves forward.
I just tried to catch up - sorry I've been MIA. I thought I posted it here, too, but I had to put my dog down a week ago today. She was my best friend - we had lived and traveled all across the country. She had been my comrade, my side-kick for 13 years. It was really hard, but also necessary and very peaceful. We were even able to bury her at my childhood home thanks to this crazy weather. Anyway, it's been a tough week - but I have also been totally distracted by being very busy over really stressful, unpleasant work that I regret becoming involved in! Yuck! Hopefully it'll be home soon and I'm hoping that things brighten up soon!
Thank you so much for the kind words. I am feeling a lot better. I am really struggling the 5 days I am on the clomid. I did not have this many side effects last time or at least I do not remember . lol

It's good to hear about the downsides of clomid, Ohmother. My midwife offered it to me the other day. I declined at least for the next two months since I have read that there is a boost in fertility for the three cycles after a miscarriage. But after that, I might go for it. I can't believe that I've been trying for this - really trying and charting and paying such close attention and having perfect timing - for 6 months already! it's weird to me how when a new cycle starts, I feel like I'm programmed to just put that last cycle behind me and get excited to try again.

I have to agree, even though we didn't time our BDing last month, I was really upset to get BFN's on my FRER tests and thought I didn't want to have a baby. Now that I am on CD12 in our first official cycle of trying I feel more excited than when we first started talking about having another two months ago.
Hope we both have good luck this cycle and have some turkey babies

I get excited every new cycle as well Jpack. This will be cycle three for us and I am praying that this will be it. I am trying to feel indifferent, if it happens it happens, but man it is hard. I did better last cycle in the beginning, but was really bummed when I got nothing but a crazy long cycle for some reason. It was torture waiting for AF to come! However, now that a new cycle has started I'm feeling upbeat and positive. Hopefully this will be the month for lots of BFP's!
aHiKaru- A turkey baby would be wonderful. Nice weather, plenty to eat, and before Christmas! Whoo Hoo!
That is all comforting to hear. It gives me some hope. I Really had no issue other then weight gain with the clomid last time . Maybe because I am older now? I really am not sure.
jpack. I am so sorry about your dog. My two yorkies passed away a few weeks ago and it is very hard. Sadly they ate something and got sick so I had the entire guilt thing going to. The kids were so sad. But it is getting a little better now and we have other dogs who are stepping up to fill the void . I pray it gets easier for you soon. 13 yrs is a long time some of my dogs still with us are 11 and 12 yrs old . It will be a sad day to see them go .
I am charting and doing ov strips waiting to see even a slightly dark line yet this month. Should be tomorrow or the next. Time will tell.
Fun question does anyone buy into the chinese gender chart? Just wondering if anyone has had any luck with it being right. I think I recall a few of mine were right but not sure if all were. I have some friends that plan pg's around what it says and have gotten the baby girl/boy they wanted.

As for OPK (ovulation predictor tests), I take them with my SMU (second morning urine) around 10-11 and always get some shade of pink. But I've also looked through galleries of OPK tests and some women get their positives around 11pm!
The chinese gender chart was correct about my DD, but I doubt every 30* year old in the world conceived a boy (considering there are only 2 months to have a girl). The accuracy is 50/50, so just a fun game, for some women it works 100% and for others is doesn't work at all, so still 50/50.

Hi Ladies,
I've mostly been hanging out over in the 2WW and lurking here but since AF showed yesterday I'm jumping over here.
Simonsez2u- I am in the same boat. This last cycle was 33 days and the one before it was only 28. I had a very abnormal week of pms that totally convinced me I was pregnant and then BAM! AF showed up at 17dpo.
I'm still trying to let go of the Halloween baby dream and get amped up about the Thanksgiving baby idea. I definitely feel much better today than yesterday. AF showed up right before I left work and I basically cried the whole drive home. It blew. This will be our 3rd month and even though I know that is not terribly long in comparison to many other women, I am crossing my fingers that it will be our last. I just ordered some wondfo ovulation and pregnancy tests online so I don't spend any more on the pricey ones. This will be my first month testing for ovulation. I had been basing it on CM and fertility calculators so hopefully this will do the trick. We'll see.
For those of you who have been trying for a number of months, do you still test early? The early BFNs were so depressing last month that I'm thinking of waiting til 12-14dpo before testing this month.

even though this is our first official month of TTC, the BFN's last month were definitely a downer
I told myself I wouldn't test so early this cycle, but now that I'm pretty sure I have a +OPK, I can't wait to test ASAP, hopefully I can hold out until 10 DPO, but I doubt it, I'll probably start 8DPO, since I have 11 tests in my stock (all CB and FRER tests). I'm trying to use the rest of my OPK's and HPT's this cycle so I won't be tempted next cycle... *here's hoping we both won't have another cycle
I woke up this am and my boobs are sore. GRR I am really getting tired of not feeling like myself and having nothing to show for it all. lol I am considering giving up even. Does anyone read a lot. I have been reading more when I have a few minutes I find it helps me relax and keep my mind busy. Especially when I am tempted to test way too early .lol I would love to hear what some of you are reading. I wonder if there is a reading thread ?
Well I am praying all of you get your babies this month and that they are all healthy and wonderful. I am not feeling very hopeful for myself this month I barely had a dark line on the ov kit. Well my coffee is almost ready. :)

Ohmother- I haven't been following the thread lately but could the sore boobs be a good sign? I love to read too. Sadly I haven't read anything lately. The last book I read was Jon Krakauer "Into Thin Air." I enjoy reading outdoor adventure books and some fiction. I took up knitting and am currently working on a shawl for a friend so that takes up what little time I have.
On the baby front, I think I may be in the 2WW. Last cycle was crazy long for me and it seems that this cycle may have been short
. Friday was CD 12. I noticed that I had stretchy EWCM and my cervix was soft and open (TMI, it practically blended in with my vaginal wall). Saturday not as much CM but cervix slightly soft. Yesterday cloudy CM and cervix high but hard. Would you ladies assume Friday was O day as well? I do not temp chart so I don't have that to go by.
Hey ladies
This is our first cycle TTC and my head has been playing crazy tricks on me. I don't chart or anything, I don't even know what most of you are talking about :) but thought I'd introduce myself anyway. I should be O'ing this week but things are not often on schedule with me and according purely to discharge, I may have O'd last week. lol, we're trying the every other day method, and while it's fun now, I can imagine that it isn't sustainable over the long run (hehe).
I have an appt with the doc on Mon. The clomid has my lower ab so sore . I am very bloated and tender to the touch ( imagine like where the ovaries would be) I have read that can happen but he wants to see if I have a cyst . I really am not sure I can keep this all up.
I am just reading until Mon. lol It helps to keep my mind off things. I just found that a author I have enjoyed has a new bok coming out in May. SO excited.. It looks awesome. lol I just finished Come Back To Me by Melissa Foster. It was really good very emotional. I was kind of annoyed by the end but I think that shows how well written and what great characters the author created. Well I am off to unload the dishwasher again ;; :)

This thread has been kinda of quiet but I wanted to drop in and share my good news. I got my BFP tonight! It's a squinter but at 11DPO I'm surprised I got one at all. I have had zero symptoms with the exception of wanting to go on a crying jag these last couple days which is so not like me. I am so excited and hope this little bean sticks! Wishing sticky BFP's to all you ladies!

Thanks Jpack and Mamaforever! I took another test this morning with FMU to see if the line would be any darker because last night it was really faint and it was! I am hesitant to be to optimistic because I had a chemical pregnancy not so long ago. However, I plan on taking the advise of someone who posted on Mothering "I will enjoy this day because today I am pregnant" or something to that effect.
Jpack I like the dancing carrots! How are you doing?
Mamaforever-How are you feeling? Has your nausea subsided? We haven't gotten any details in a while. Update! Update!
