I'm a knitter! I do plan on knitting up some adorable items but for now I am busy food preserving and knitting 6 boleros for my sisters wedding next month! I can't wait to see what you all make!

I opened this week's "people" magazine, (I work in an office and we get the rag mags, lol), and on page 4 is Jewel w/ her new son, and he's wearing a knitted soaker!  Sheepish.gif  He's so itsy-bitsy, too, and you can still see his umbilical nub.  Very sweet picture.

Ooooh I am sooo excited to see this. I love knitting. I kind of sew too but not really the informed seamstress. I just kind of make the simple things like a yoga mat bag or rice hot/cold packs.

I am on ravelry too, CraftyYoginiMama is my sn for there as well as TBW and diaperswappers.

My first instinct following calling the midwife I wanted to interview was oh my gosh I only have 9 months to knit stuff for the baby. But I didn't want to make something and not have the baby stick so I waited a couple weeks plus I just kind if slept the first 5 weeks away and then last week went to my moms and started a pair of socks for dd. Put it down until yesterday and finished the first last night. Now to motivate myself to make the other..heave hoe heave hoe lol. I figure I will pour my excitement into dd until I feel more confident this baby is staying and can find some pretty gn colors I like. I think I will do that awesome sleep sack in a brown color. Super cute! That might be my first project for the baby.

Once I am better able to make and meet my day to day commitments again I would love to consider joining your swap. But right now it will be in my I'd love too world. I just don't want to let anyone down.

Yay for other Craftymamas!

last night i started the butterfly baby wrap~its just like the buttonup wrap but on smaller needles. I didnt have size 17's!

I keep looking at the buttons on these wraps and keep seeing them as a chooking hazard. Any other ideas that are less chokable?ast night i started the butterfly baby wrap~its just like the buttonup wrap but on smaller needles. I didnt have size 17's!

An i--cord tie sewn on or a crocheted chain sewn on?

A braid frog maybe?

Honestly, when I look at these adorable wraps, I imagine them as being for supervised wearing only, like for photos. So I'd probably put on some giant buttons with some excessive sewing and stop use if baby does decide to start chewing on the button.

Finished the first knit cap and a knit bib.  I just sort of freestyled the bib, I think it's too small, but we'll see.  Need to start some socks and more hats, lol.

Hi Ladies!!

I'm also new to knitting, but have made a few baskets and scarves.  I LOVE the Button up baby wrap, and can't wait to head off to the store to get some chunky yarn to use for it.

I also sew a little and plan on making my own ring sling(s)  One in a pretty green and brown for me, and either a MSU fabric or Some other random awesomeness for dh.  I'm really thinking maybe an AC/DC fabric would have us arguing who gets to hold baby in the sling.  ROTFLMAO.gif

Oh, Esma!  I was thinking of making a sling, too!  Chili pepper fabric for DH, lol.

I'm already knitting up a storm! There are just toooo many cute things to make! Gender neutral things for now, and once I have my 18 week scan and (hopefully) find out the sex, I'm going to make a few more things. I have some very "boy" looking patterns and some very "girl" looking patterns I'm dying to try out. Mostly girly things though, very lacy and precious looking ;)

I wish I knew how to knit, but I can crochet and sew.  I just finished my first crocheted dress for dd.  We are so fortunate to already know the sex of this baby so I can get to work on her wardrobe =)  I'll probably also make a blanket and some longies/covers for her diapers.  Probably some more dresses too =)  I'll see if I can figure out how to post a pic of the dress I made.

Oh, wow! Vintage patterns sound so nice... :))  I am finishing a project for my mother-in-law... and then, can't wait to start on things for the baby! I am so happy to be pregnant through the winter too... because it is a great excuse to keep some warm knitting project on my lap. Yayee!! I am very excited.

I went to a yarn sale this past weekend and stocked up on some organic cotton in various colours, and some wool yarn. Oh I have plans! But, still too much holiday knitting to do.... poo. I keep looking at these and itching to get to work:

One of my cousins is pregnant and due at the end of February so I'll probably knit her something for her shower gift.

Lately I have not had time!  BOO!  I'm still working on the blanket, and have plans to make a baby sack from a jacquard patterned yarn.

I need to work on booties and more hats, etc.  I need more time, lol.

anyone else wish they knew the gender of their baby now?  it's hard to pick out gender neutral yarn colours and patterns!!  anyone have gender neutral projects that they really really love right now?  our weather has turned cool and rainy, and i'm soo ready to cocoon in and knit up a storm for this baby but not sure what to work on next.

I would love to learn to knit, but for now I only crochet. Anyone have any good patterns to post for crocheted items? I've been having no interest in starting anything until this week (it appears I was working through some unconscious issues and the second I realized it I began to really "grasp" the fact that this baby was coming, now I HAVE to make something LOL). I'm going to start a blanket first, I've made one for each of my others, so it has to be done. I'm thinking something in browns, greens, and blues...but I don't know for sure until I find a pattern I like (I really need to get to the store and buy new books and a set of hooks). I'd also like to do a pair of baby booties, which should be quick enough I can have them done before the baby gets here (not a guarantee on the blanket).
