looking for help from a Korean speaker

Thread Starter

could someone help me learn to pronounce a few Korean names  please ?

- Yun Jin

- Ji Hun

- Ji Hyeon

especially the last two, for which we don't seem to hear a difference

we are a bunch of moms meeting up in a park and are all wondering how to feel confident saying their name

AND too embarrassed by now to ask the mom to repeat their names AGAIN ...

am not native speaker of english but if you could tell me that that first part or second part of whatever names is pronounced the same as the beginning/middle/end of this or that english word, that would help

many thanks in advance !

Yun Jin sounds like "you" with an "n" on it and "gin"

Ji Hun sounds like "gee" like "gee whiz" and "hon" like the beginning of the word honey

Ji Hyeon is the hardest to explain in english... have you ever heard someone say "hyuck hyuck" maybe in a cartoon or something?  Off the top of my head I can't think of an english word that uses the "hyuh" sound combination.  But it's like "yun" (rhymes with 'one' or sounds like "uhhhh") with an h on the beginning.
